The cookware industry is massive. Not only do kitchen enthusiasts love a good recipe, but they also love quality tools even more. Born from this passion are many brands, including HexClad, a company developed in 2015 by entrepreneur Danny Winer. His inspiration is to produce Michelin-star-caliber cookware for home cooks around the world.
Before he started making pans, Winer was in the juicing business. In 2013, he tanked the juicer idea and started conversations with engineers to build a griddle-style pan. By integrating strategic media collaborations, the HexClad name quickly grew to fame.
Backed by Gordon Ramsey himself, HexClad boasts an impressive range of stats, including nonstick hybrid technology, excellent temperature control, easy care and cleaning, and a lifetime warranty.
The pan is the star of the show in the HexClad lineup. The design features hexagonal steel ridges, an aluminum core, and a stainless steel surface. The result is the all-coveted sear, but Zamboni slick cooking surface.
Recently branching beyond the home chefs, HexClad has begun outfitting professional kitchens as well. In 2023, Business Journal ranked them No. 12 on its list of fastest-growing companies. Business is booming for HexClad, but where are they manufacturing their products?
Verdict: Is HexClad Cookware Made in the USA?
No, HexClad Cookware is not made in the USA. The company manufactures its products in China and South Korea.
The brand calls the Los Angeles Arts District home, but as expected, doesn’t manufacture there. Winer, the co-owner, describes HexClad as a “designed and distributed in Los Angeles company.” But production? Oh no, no. That happens in China.
According to HexClad, there is no other location in the world that offers the skill of Chinese manufacturing. But we all know there is another side to this statement. There is no other place in the world that offers cheaper manufacturing. HexClad is slated to generate $550 million in revenue by the end of 2025. Come 2026, their goal jumps up to $600 million.
We searched their website for products made in the USA and found two items: a dish-drying mat and a steamer basket set. Right on the drying mat product page, we found an affirmation that it is made in the USA.
In contrast, the steamer basket product page did not provide such information. To verify, we reached out directly to the company. Here is their reply:
If Gordon Ramsey backs these pans, they are probably pretty good. But are they made in the USA? No. HexClad offers only one product manufactured in the United States: the dish drying mat. Apparently, American factories are skilled enough to make that, but can’t be trusted with the pans themselves… according to HexClad, at least.
