According to the latest data from the Global Wellness Institute, the wellness economy in the United States was north of $1.2 trillion in 2020 and is expected to grow considerably from there. This categorization covers everything from personal care to nutrition, fitness products, supplements, wellness tourism, and more. Increasingly, the United States is becoming a smaller portion of the manufacturing pie for physical wellness goods. Not only is this trend harmful to our domestic self-sufficiency, but many foreign manufacturers don’t have the safety and quality standards that we have in the U.S., which results in more recalls and more potentially dangerous wellness products.
