The MegaFood Multi sells vitamins specifically for both men and women. Not only is this multivitamin made in the U.S., but parts of each vitamin are made from real food and wholesome ingredients that are sourced from MegaFood’s farm partners.
The men’s multivitamin doesn’t contain calcium, iron, or magnesium in them which is more suited for men unless specifically recommended by their doctor. Whilst the women’s multivitamin is designed to provide a healthy response to hormonal fluctuations that women experience throughout the month.
MegaFood’s vitamins are easy on the stomach, you can have them on an empty stomach and don’t leave a bitter aftertaste.
As one of the top-selling kid’s vitamins on the market, it’s clear that parents trust their gummy vitamins. Best of all, they are made in the USA! Lil Critters offers balanced nutritional value, good taste, and great ingredients. Each gummy vitamin is packed with vitamins A, B-12, B6, C, D, and E, which are all essential for healthy development at an early age. In terms of taste, each pack of vitamins comes with a few assorted flavors: blueberry, cherry, pineapple, orange, and strawberry. A lot of kids’ vitamins will also take shortcuts with their ingredients, but Lil Critters is making their vitamins with no gluten, no synthetic dyes, and no high fructose corn syrup. Spruce, which is on our list for CBD oils made in the USA, recently came out with a melatonin supplement (they call it Sleep Ranger) that works to help you fall asleep and stay asleep. It contains a normal safe dosage of 10mg of melatonin and a few other major ingredients: 400mg of valerian root, 13mg of magnesium, 150mg of 5-HTTP, and 100mg of Lemon Balm Extract. Along with the melatonin, these active ingredients help you stably absorb everything over several hours to get a great night’s sleep. It’s also completely vegan, organic, and gluten-free with none of those artificial ingredients. Along with their CBD oil, Spruce uses third-party lab tests for all of their products to ensure their safety and effectiveness.

There are 18 different types of probiotics in their Ultra-30 supplement to help remedy a wide variety of issues and also help your digestive system soak up more nutrients from natural food. Ultra-30 is also super convenient because it doesn’t need to be refrigerated like most probiotics.
Factors To Consider
Source of Ingredients
The source of the ingredients is often the #1 thing to look for in a safe vitamin or supplement. Ingredients from China are often very unreliable. Additionally, avoid any vitamins that had both calcium and iron in them, which can clash when they are taken together, affecting the ability for both of them to get absorbed properly.
Also look for vitamins that have activated forms of nutrients (like P5P mentioned above), which helps speed up the effectiveness of that nutrient, essentially bypassing the activation process that your body would have to perform. When in doubt, call the brand if you ever have doubts about where ingredients come from.
Fillers can sneak up on you don’t look at the ingredients list carefully (luckily, we did that for you). They are often used to extend the product’s shelf life, make it look or taste better, or make it cheaper to manufacture. These fillers can come in the form of synthetic colors, artificial preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, corn, soy, wheat, and many other forms.
Other Safety Measures
Ingredients and fillers are a big part of safety, but take extra precautions and look at supplement strength, packaging, and storage. In terms of strength and size, here are some of the common terms you see on vitamin packages and what they mean:
- RDA – recommended dietary allowance
- AI – adequate intake
- UL – tolerable upper intake level
- DV – daily value
Also look for bottles that have kids’ safety locks on them and can be stored safely in your cabinet or pantry without being refrigerated.
Easy to Take
Your daily vitamins should be easy to swallow and, ideally, not leave a bad aftertaste (although that isn’t a deal breaker for us if the vitamin has the best nutritional value).
A lot of companies throw fancy ingredient names at you and jack up the price of their supplements. Make sure you get the best vitamins for your money, so eliminate any vitamins where the quality of the product doesn’t match the price tag.
