About
L.L. Bean is a classic retailer of outdoor clothing, footwear, and equipment founded in 1912 by L. L. Bean as a trading post on the Maine coast to handle hunting, trapping, and fishing needs for people living in the outback of Maine.
They were chopping wood and ice fishing in freezing weather and then changing into their well-worn city clothes for a night on the town, so they didn’t have nice things to wear. What they needed were good wool shirts that wouldn’t shrink or wear out after hard use.
Check out their online store for some products made in the USA. Not everything they produce is made in the USA, though. Check out our L.L. Bean research for more info.
