Cub Cadet was established in 1960 and is now owned by Stanley Black & Decker, its parent brand. Originally, the brand operated out of Kentucky but has since moved its headquarters to Ohio.

Cub Cadet Mowers is not a solely US brand. It sells its products worldwide, and thus, its manufacturing is also international. According to the brand, most of its production occurs in the US, but it also utilizes foreign facilities.
Per Cub Cadet themselves, if it’s sold here in North America, it was also assembled here. This claim has been in place for the entirety of the company’s history. For 60+ years, Cub Cadet has operated out of the US, from design to build.
Three manufacturing facilities are located in the United States: Ohio, Mississippi, and Tennessee. They employ some 7,500 people across their locations, including the headquarters where design and engineering take place. Aside from that, there isn’t much more information available about these facilities.
We found that a Cub Cadet factory in Tennessee closed in 2009, laying off 200 employees. However, the brand still lists Tennessee as an active manufacturing site, insinuating that the state still has an operating facility.
In the international arena, Cub Cadet hubs out of Canada, Europe, Australia, and China. There are lawn care needs everywhere, after all.
