Founded in 1893, the company began as “Rolph & Ball Furniture Company”, making upholstered furniture. This was sold in 1901 to four tradesmen, who created ‘Flexsteel”. In the 1920s, they developed a new technology known as the ‘blue steel based’ for upholstered furniture designed to last a lifetime. It has since expanded to include products for every room in the house.
