Today, the state is home to some of the largest manufacturers in the country, such as Coca-Cola, General Electric, and Mercedes Benz. The state also boasts a strong agricultural base, with over $1 billion worth of crops being produced annually. Manufacturing jobs continue to decline nationwide, but Georgia remains relatively stable. In fact, the state added nearly 50,000 new jobs between 2014 and 2015 alone. While the overall number of manufacturing jobs declined by 2 percent from 2000 to 2016, the state saw a slight increase in employment.
