About
Dakota Stoneware Pottery is a handmade ceramics studio founded in 1972 by artist Dave Huebner, originally in Brookings, South Dakota, and now located in Bushnell. Huebner, a trained graphic artist and Army veteran, combines early American pottery techniques with personal artistic expression, creating functional stoneware inspired by prairie landscapes and wildlife. Every piece is handcrafted on a potter’s wheel using locally sourced materials and custom glazes, and is designed to be microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe. In addition to unique wildlife designs, Huebner produces historically accurate reproductions for museums and collectors. All production takes place at his Bushnell studio, where he manages the entire process, firing electric kilns daily to fulfill orders for art fairs, retail, and specialty clients. Dakota Stoneware Pottery exemplifies enduring American craftsmanship and local artistic heritage.
