Appliances
Home appliances are one of the tougher product categories to research for American manufacturing because many brands still rely on imported parts and components even when final assembly happens in the United States. Still, this is not a small niche: U.S. household appliance manufacturing supported about 60,100 jobs in 2024, and major household appliance manufacturers shipped roughly $24.2 billion worth of products in 2021. That complexity shows up in the data too: across the broader electrical equipment, appliances, and components category, the Commerce Department found that only 34% of the value of U.S. purchases in 2023 came from domestic production, after excluding imported finished goods and imported inputs. On this page, we’ve gathered all of our research on appliances made in the USA so you can explore specific product categories, discover brands still doing real manufacturing here, and better understand the difference between domestic assembly and truly American made products.
