Where Are Streamlight Flashlights Made?

Streamlight Flashlights has been in business for over 50 years. The company was founded in 1973 as a small family business in Eagleville, Pennsylvania. What began as a little flicker of an idea has grown into a full beam of light. Streamlight products can now be found around the world.

The company produces a wide array of high-performance lights for users of all degrees, from professional to recreational. Some of their products include lanterns, LED flashlights, weapon-mounted lights, work lights, and USB-rechargeable flashlights. If it lights up, Streamlight probably makes it.

From a small business to a global corporation, Streamlight has vastly expanded its reach and customer base since the company’s inception. They now sell to users in the US and 90 countries around the world.

Streamlight is still based out of its original hometown of Eagleville, Pennsylvania. But as they’ve grown, have they continued to build their flashlights here too? Read on to find out.

Verdict: Are Streamlight Flashlights Made in the USA?

No, Streamlight flashlights are not made in the USA. Streamlight manufactures its products in China and completes assembly processes for some items in the US.

The company owns its own manufacturing facility in Eagleville, where it employs over 350 people. However, no products are made from start to finish in this factory. Instead, the site is home to offices and some assembly (not complete manufacturing) work.

A website search for “Made in USA” yields 86 products. However, a deeper dive into these products revealed to us that many items were only “assembled” in the United States.

The following information is from the Survivor X Right Angle Light:

The following information is from the Vulcan LED Alex Rechargeable Lantern:

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has very clear stipulations for labeling products “Made in USA.” Companies can face some serious penalties for making false claims and thus deceiving the public. The Made in USA Labeling Rule states that “all or virtually all” of a product must be manufactured in the US for a company to claim and label the product as “Made in the USA.”

The majority of the items we checked on the Streamlight website state,d “Assembled in the USA. Assembled is very different from Made. And in fact, some products that showed up in our Made in USA website search weren’t even assembled here. See the photo below for one of these products.

The following information is from the Septor LED Headlamp:

Although Streamlight is an American company with a domestic manufacturing facility, most of its production occurs in China. Only some assembly takes place here in the US. We weren’t able to locate any products that were labeled “Made in USA.”

If you’re happy with assembled in the USA, then head into the beam and shop away. You can find out whether a Streamlight product was assembled in America by heading to the product page, clicking on the “Documentation” bulletin, and then selecting “Fact Sheet.”
