Twig Case Co. was founded in 2011 after founder John Woodland purchased three wooden phone cases in a row for his new iPhone 4 after each phone case kept breaking. John was a guitar designer and was designing the first-ever Forest Stewardship Council-certified guitar for Martin Guitars at the time. He decided to use the same sustainable materials to make an iPhone cover for himself. Twig Case Co. launched in 2012 and has been handmaking wooden phone cases from Richlite ever since, which they claim is stronger than wood.
