Puresteel is a home appliance company based in Austin, Texas, that designs and manufactures contaminant-free kitchen products. The company was founded by JC Foster after he was unable to find a commercially available automatic drip coffee maker free of plastic components at an accessible price. Every standard stainless steel option on the market at the time contained hidden plastic valves, tubing, and reservoirs, prompting Foster to design a replacement from scratch. Puresteel’s first product is a 12-cup automatic drip coffee maker constructed from 304 medical-grade stainless steel and glass throughout, with no plastic in any part of the machine. Design, manufacturing, and assembly are performed in Austin, though the company sources a limited number of components from international suppliers in cases where domestic alternatives are not available at comparable specifications. Independent laboratory testing for microplastic contamination is planned before the product ships. The first delivery window is targeted for mid-to-late 2026.
