Oreck Corporation was founded in 1963 by David Oreck where they started with manufacturing upright vacuum cleaners for the U.S. hotel industry. David Oreck had a radical idea – to create a powerful but lightweight vacuum so that hotel housekeepers could do a thorough clean without the weight of the heftier models they were using. However, these vacuums were so successful that people wanted to use them at home, too. Oreck quickly made a reputation for itself for making quality vacuums and has now expanded its range to include steam mops, floor machines, air purifiers, and cleaning products.
Note – only some Oreck vacuums are made in the US. Check with their customer service team if you can’t see the country of origin when you’re shopping on their website. The country of origin should also be present on the physical packaging if you’re shopping in a store.
