Meliora, based in Chicago, crafts all of its cleaning products right at its own factory, where every step of the process, from blending raw materials to molding and drying soap, to mixing powders, packaging, and labeling, is handled in-house by employees earning living wages and benefits. The finished products are stored and shipped directly from this facility, serving both direct consumers and wholesale clients.
In keeping with its Made in the USA ethos, Meliora sources approximately 70% of its raw materials domestically. This includes organic sunflower oil, baking soda, and washing soda alongside packaging components such as soap boxes and canisters from Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan suppliers. For ingredients not available domestically, the company sources organic coconut oil (from the Philippines and Sri Lanka) and essential oils (Spain, Italy, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, and Australia) from trusted international partners, while still maintaining control over packaging and distribution through local U.S. distributors.
