The idea for KerfCases’s wooden phone cases was started in 2013 when founder Ben wasn’t impressed with any existing phone cases on the market. He spent an evening at the Carnegie Mellon University woodshop crafting a new case for his iPhone 5. After significant demand from friends and family, KerfCase launched as a business and in 2015 required a space of its own to operate. KerfCase handmakes its phone cases with sustainably sourced 100% natural wood from Pittsburgh trees. All of their products are made to order, helping keep their footprint small.
