About
Founded in 2004 by designer Marilyn Robertson, who was creating bags and purses, a custom order quickly changed her business model. Inspired by memories of her mother recycling clothing into new items, Marilyn began taking sweaters that would have ended up in landfills and crafting them into new products. Named after her parents, Jack & Mary Designs uses wool items – a material known for being organic, sustainable, and biodegradable but also breathable, insulating, and antibacterial and makes new products with them. Upcycled items include scarves, hats, bun warmer skirts, and Memory Mittens. Each item is thoroughly cleaned and inspected before being hand-assembled using creatively-used colors and designs to make accessories for men, women, and children.
