About

INNOVA is a line of longarm quilting machines manufactured by ABM International at its headquarters in Montgomery, Texas, in the Houston area. ABM traces its history to 1947, when Arthur Schwarzberger developed a quilting machine concept in his Chicago garage, and the family-owned company moved to Texas in 2003. ABM introduced its first INNOVA longarm in 2007, applying engineering from its industrial quilting equipment to machines for home and professional quilters. They use some imported components, though, so these products are only assembled in the USA.

INNOVA machines are engineered, machined, and assembled at the Montgomery facility, which the company says can produce up to 1,000 quilting machines per year. The current lineup includes the M Series longarm machines in several throat sizes and the AutoPilot Mach 3 computerized quilting system. The company markets the machines to hobby quilters, quilt shops, and full-time quilting businesses, so the line serves both household and commercial buyers. ABM International is a fourth-generation family business that also owns the industrial bedding machinery brands Gribetz and Atlanta Attachment Company.
