General Pencil Company has been operated by the Weissenborn family since 1889 and has a rich history. The family-owned business was established by a mechanical engineer and was one of the first pencil factories in America. Originating in Jersey City, they moved to California in 1965 to be closer to the incense cedar supply. Now onto its sixth generation of family members, General Pencil Company takes great pride in creating quality school and arts and crafts supplies. They’re also proud to be made in the USA – all of General Pencil Company’s pencils are made in the USA using domestic and imported materials.
