Colonial Mills has been a family-owned and operated business since 1977. They originally started with braided rugs – the designs are inspired by old-fashioned handmade rugs and are particularly noted for coming in a variety of shapes. However, they now sell a lot more than their signature braided rugs, including braided baskets, doormats, hampers, stair treads, and poufs. Though their products are now machine-braided, all of Colonial Mills’ products are made to order at their factory in Rhode Island.
