Capel Rugs began its journey in 1917 by industrious 17-year-old North Carolinian, A. Leon Capel. Starting as a mule plow line and rope manufacturer, new sewing machinery quickly led him to change tactics and braid rope together to create the very first Capel rug. After 100 years, Capel Rugs is still a family-operated business. They offer a huge variety of designs, styles, shapes, and sizes, but all of their braided rugs are reversible, durable, and soft. Capel Rugs both manufactures its own rugs and imports rugs from other countries. They have a “Made in the USA” section on their site.
