About

American Blossom Linens are very transparent about their manufacturing process. They go to great lengths to ensure the entire process and all of their products are 100% American-made and sustainable.

American Blossom’s history stretches back over 100 years. They’re part of Thomaston Mills, which has operated in the U.S. since 1899.

In the 1940s, Thomaston Mills introduced the American Blossom line but stopped manufacturing it for a long time. With renewed interest in American manufacturing, they decided to reintroduce American Blossom and ensure their entire manufacturing process happens inside the U.S.

Furthermore, the company’s owners believe that not only are people looking for goods made in the U.S., but they’re also looking for sustainable products that support local economies, a category into which American Blossom falls. Your family also gets no exposure to herbicides and pesticides because the cotton fibers are organic, and you get peace of mind knowing you’re participating in creating a safer working environment for textile manufacturers.

Featured American Blossom Linens Products Made in the USA

Duvet Cover Sets: No matter what your home’s decor is, whether you like bright, bold colors, muted neutrals, a mix, or something eclectic, American Blossom’s duvet covers will go well with your home. No need to hunt down the perfect colors; these go with everything.

Sheet Sets: Using 100% West Texas organic American cotton, these sheet sets have been crafted for over 122 years to create the perfect fabric. The result creates a combination that is soft, breathable, and delicate on the skin. Made from percale weave, these sustainable sheets are designed to last a lifetime and get softer with each wash. The range offered includes classic, dye-free, and baby crib sheet sets.

Pillows: American Blossom’s all-natural bed pillows are filled with wool from sheep raised in the Pacific Northwest and Uppermidwest. A plant in California sources this wool from local farms known for their sustainable practices. To make yourself feel even more ethically better about buying these pillows, the covers are made from organic cotton and sewn at a not-for-profit. The site in Herkimer NY provides support, job training, and housing services for the disabled. Wool has natural heating and cooling characteristics which adjust to your body temperature, keeping you warm and cool seasonally. The pillows are also adjustable – just unzip and remove wool pieces if you want a flatter pillow or order more to bulk it up.

Manufacturing Notes

American Blossom Linens are very transparent about their manufacturing process. They go to great lengths to ensure the entire process and all of their products are 100% American-made and sustainable. Their website shows which states they manufacture in as well as how many jobs they sustain:

  • Texas, cotton farming – 250 jobs
  • Georgia, packaging – 60 jobs
  • Georgia, sewing and quality control – 70 jobs
  • Georgia, finishing – 160 jobs
  • South Carolina, weaving – 400 jobs
  • North Carolina, elastic – 35 jobs
  • North Carolina, spinning – 30 jobs

From start to finish, each manufacturing element has been carefully considered to result in the best quality products. They source their fiber from a collective of organic farmers, The Texas Organic Growers Co-op, who have farmed pesticide-free since the early ’90s. This cotton is then made into yarn and fabric at mills in North and South Carolina.

This organic American cotton is then spun and weaved using techniques that create a strong, single-ply yarn that resists pilling and stays smooth wash after wash. The traditional percale weave also ensures the fabric is crisp yet incredibly soft. This technique also allows more air to pass through, making it cool in summer and warm in winter. The fabric is then finished in Georgia using a formula that is environmentally friendly, pure, and chemical-free.

American Blossom Linens have also carefully considered their packaging, opting for a box made in the USA from 100% recycled content which also protects their products from damage when being transported. By using recycled-only cartons, it’s expected that their manufacturing plant saves 4,250 trees and 775,000 gallons of water each year.
