Established in 2014, 1733 designs and makes bags and accessories in Chicago. After working in data analysis and database design, founder Phil Schade felt like he lost his physical connection to things and started sewing home goods. With the help of his brother and a sewing course, this soon turned into making bags, which is what they’re now known for. 1733 uses small-batch, in-house manufacturing selectively paired with high-quality domestic factory production to create bags that are durable, beautiful, and uncommon.
