About

Xact Metal, Inc. is a metal 3D printer manufacturer founded in March 2017 by Matt Woods, Juan Mario Gomez, and Jonathon Hollahan, all with connections to Penn State University, and headquartered at Penn State’s Innovation Park at 200 Innovation Boulevard, Suite 257 in State College, Pennsylvania. The company develops and manufactures powder bed fusion 3D printing systems focused on making metal additive manufacturing accessible at lower price points than legacy systems. Xact Metal shipped its first printer, the XM200C, in 2019, followed by the XM200G dual-laser family in 2021 and the larger XM300G series announced in 2022. The company’s printers use both XY gantry and galvanometer mirror configurations to serve university research labs, R&D departments, and industrial users transitioning from plastic to metal printing. Xact Metal has established a distribution network of resellers across 48 countries while continuing to manufacture from its State College facility.
