Sword & Plough is a socially conscious brand that aims to do a lot of good with its product. Set up by two sisters, Emily and Betsy, born into a military family where their dad served and their uncle served as a Marine NASA Astronaut Pilot. Emily also joined the U.S. army to serve as an officer. After hearing about the troubles veterans faced getting employment after military service, Emily set out on a mission. The result was crafting bags made out of repurposed military surplus materials such as sleeping bags, tents, uniform materials, canvas, and nylon. This makes the bags extremely durable due to being made from military-grade fabrics, as well as many being water resistant. The sale of their products goes to empowering veteran employment, they work with U.S manufacturers who employ veterans, and 10% of profits also go to veteran non-profit organizations.
