Sunnyside Textiles, originally L&R Knitting, was founded in 1972 by Ronnie and Lonnie Brittain in Hickory, North Carolina. The company evolved from a small hosiery mill into a leader in the industry, adopting advanced knitting technologies in the 1990s. Despite challenges in the 2000s, the mill persevered and was purchased in 2014 by Randy Wakerlin and Lisa Flood, becoming Sunnyside Textiles. The company continues to produce high-quality American-made hosiery, contributing to the resurgence of domestic manufacturing.
