Sciaky, Inc. is a manufacturer of electron beam welding systems and metal additive manufacturing equipment founded in 1939 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, where its world headquarters encompasses more than 140,000 square feet of facilities. The company developed its Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing process, known as EBAM, beginning in 1996 as a method for producing large, high-value metal parts from titanium and other aerospace alloys, launched it as a service offering in 2009, and began delivering turnkey EBAM systems to commercial customers in 2014. All welding services, design work, manufacturing, hardware and software development, testing, and research and development for Sciaky’s products take place at the Chicago headquarters. In addition to EBAM systems, Sciaky manufactures electron beam welding systems, arc welding systems, and resistance welding systems. Sciaky was acquired by Phillips Service Industries, Inc. in 1994 and serves aerospace, defense, and industrial manufacturing customers.
