Product designer Shannon South found herself conflicted about adding more products to the world that was already overflowing with stuff. After transforming an old leather jacket that had a lot of meaning for her into a handbag, Shannon came up with her business idea. In 2009 Shannon founded Remade USA which looks to repurpose leather jackets and create unique handbags with them. She also sells limited edition bags that are crafted from factory remnants. Now Shannon gets to design new products while also remaining sustainable.
