A family bike tour on the coast of South Carolina when Dave Wilson was 11 started his true love of bike riding. After a stint in the U.S. Army and then teaching high school physics, Dave began bikepacking in 2012. At this time, he also started making bike bags using a clapped-out industrial sewing machine in his garage. He launched what was formerly known as Nuclear Sunrise Stitchworks in 2013 and made it full-time in 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic. He has an intentional focus on production in the U.S., hiring local employees.
