Markforged is a 3D printer and materials manufacturer founded in 2013 by Gregory Mark and David Benhaim, initially in the Boston area and now headquartered at 60 Tower Road in Waltham, Massachusetts. The company manufactures composite and metal 3D printers capable of printing with continuous carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, and metal powders, along with its proprietary Onyx carbon-fiber-filled nylon filament. Markforged operates a dedicated manufacturing and materials production facility in Billerica, Massachusetts, where it produces all printer materials, including its continuous fiber products and metal filaments; the Billerica facility is ISO 9001:2015 certified. The company serves aerospace, automotive, defense, and industrial manufacturing customers and employs more than 500 people across its Waltham headquarters and Billerica manufacturing site. Markforged went public in 2021 through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company.
