Rick Hinderer Knives manufactures folding and fixed-blade knives at a production facility in Shreve, Ohio, on a property known in the knife community as The Ranch. Rick Hinderer established the company in 1988 in Shreve, beginning production in a 14-foot by 18-foot turkey coop before expanding to the current facility equipped with CNC mills, lathes, and grinders. The XM-18 folding knife, introduced in 2005, became the company’s most recognized model and established Hinderer’s reputation for hard-use designs with precision construction tolerances. Every component of a Hinderer knife is machined and assembled in-house by the Ohio team at The Ranch.
