Guardian Tactical manufactures tactical knives in Emporium, Pennsylvania, operating from a facility on South Maple Street in the former Cameron Battery building. The company was founded in 2012 by Andy Buerk, a blade design engineer formerly with Microtech Knives, and Brian Mercer, a CNC machinist also formerly with Microtech, who partnered to build a domestic tactical knife manufacturing operation. All knives are produced at the Emporium facility using CNC machining, with the lineup covering more than two dozen models across the tactical knife category. The company’s product focus centers on out-the-front automatic knife designs, with new models in development for 2026.
