DiamondBlade Knives manufactures fixed-blade knives at its facility in Denison, Texas, housed in a building that previously served as a World War II-era parachute manufacturing plant. The company was formed around 2003 by Hobie Smith and Charles Allen, who partnered after meeting at the Grand National Quail Convention to develop what they described as the most technologically advanced blade possible. The result was the Friction Forged process, a proprietary surface treatment technology covered by U.S. patents that alters the molecular structure of blade steel to produce a harder, longer-lasting edge than conventionally ground knives. All production takes place at the Denison facility.
