About

Danforth Pewter is a Vermont-based manufacturer of handcrafted pewter goods, rooted in a family tradition that began in 1755 with Thomas Danforth II. The modern company was reestablished in 1975 by Fred and Judi Danforth, who revived the craft in Woodstock, Vermont. Today, their workshop and main retail location are in Middlebury, where skilled artisans use time-honored techniques such as casting and spinning to create jewelry, ornaments, tableware, home décor, and custom gifts. All products are made from lead-free pewter and meet FDA food safety standards. Danforth Pewter is committed to sustainable production practices, including using solar energy and working toward eliminating fossil fuels in their operations. The company continues to uphold the values of American craftsmanship with a strong emphasis on quality, heritage, and environmental responsibility.
