Chris Reeve Knives manufactures folding and fixed-blade knives at its facility in Boise, Idaho, where the company has operated since 1989. Founder Chris Reeve began making knives as a sole proprietor in January 1984 in Durban, South Africa, where his background in tool and die work informed his approach to blade geometry and materials selection. Reeve and his wife, Anne, immigrated to the United States in 1989, choosing Boise for its combination of accessible resources and affordable workshop space for a small business, and the company was incorporated in 1993 as Reeve Incorporated. The company is now wholly owned and operated by Anne Reeve and their son Tim, with every component of a CRK knife manufactured in-house at the Boise facility or sourced from U.S. suppliers.
