Amsale was founded as a result of owner Amsale’s own wedding dress. She was seeking a more modern, pared-down design for her 1985 nuptials but could only find overly ornate dresses that were on-trend in that era. After crafting a dress that was distinct in style, simple, modern, and personal, she set out to create her own collection. An Ethiopian native, Amsale is a female, black-owned business headquartered in New York City that has become one of the world’s leading luxury bridal houses. Each of the collections is designed and delicately handcrafted piece by piece by Amsale’s hand-selected team in New York.
