American Roots is a clothing manufacturer based in Maine that makes 100% union-made and American made apparel. The company was founded in 2013 by co-owner Ben Waxman when he moved back to his hometown of Portland, Maine. He wanted to create great jobs in the community he grew up in, and American Roots was born. Ben and his wife Dory developed a stitchers training program that eventually ballooned into Common Threads of Maine, a great organization that teaches skilled labor and supports American manufacturing.
