About
3D Systems Corporation is an additive manufacturing company founded in 1986 by engineer Chuck Hull, who invented stereolithography and produced the first commercial 3D printer. Headquartered in Rock Hill, South Carolina, since 2005, the company consolidated its global operations and R&D functions into a campus there in 2007, later expanding the facility by 100,000 square feet in 2021 to accommodate materials manufacturing, quality operations, logistics, and advanced manufacturing for both metal and polymer components. 3D Systems manufactures a broad range of 3D printing systems, including its Figure 4 photopolymer platforms, SLA and SLS printers, DMP metal direct printing systems, dental and jewelry printers, and associated software tools such as 3DXpert and 3D Sprint. The company serves aerospace, defense, medical, dental, and automotive sectors, with manufacturing and Customer Innovation Centers operating from its Rock Hill headquarters alongside additional domestic on-demand manufacturing service locations.
